On Thursday, May 8th Burlington High School will be holding an open house for 8th grade families. We encourage everyone to stop by. This open house is a great opportunity for current 8th graders to meet teachers and visit the building before next year! More details are in the flyer below:
This week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, I will be in Math classes helping students register for 9th grade. Students will see recommendations made by current teachers and will be able to have some choice regarding World Language and Electives. We walk them through the process in Power School so they complete it correctly. Students will have a course sheet that they can bring home where they have circled their choices. Please ask them for this! If your child is absent, I will find them before the deadline and get them registered.
Please remember that as a freshman there are many required courses, so the opportunity for choice is limited. Once this process is completed, I will print copies of their requests to be available to you during parent conferences. You can also view them online in PowerSchool. We warmly invite the parents of currently enrolled 8th grade students to the Class of 2029 Parent Information Night on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at the downtown BHS campus, located at 67 Cherry Street.
This presentation serves as a friendly introduction to life at BHS and is intended to help parents and caregivers prepare for their students’ transition to high school- including the class selection process. Our refreshed 2025-2026 Program of Studies will go live on our website soon, but you may refer to the 2024-2025 Program of Studies as you begin to consider your future enrollment plans. For additional support and information, please reach out to the BHS School Counseling Department.
Please be sure to start a parking session if you park in the garage next to the school. The first two hours are free, but you must start a ParkMobile session (Zone # 5826) to avoid a ticket.

We are excited to start the process of transitioning your children to Burlington High School! The first step is the parent information night at BHS on 1/29/25…Please see the attached flyer.
During the week of February 10th, I will be in 8th grade math classes working with students to get them registered for classes. Math teachers, Special educators, El teachers and our French teacher make recommendations for levels of classes. Many of the other classes are required. Students will be able to bring home a sheet with their requests on it, and you will see the 9th grade course options.
