HMS Library
Welcome
The HMS library is the hub of our school. Our collection consists of more than 10,000 print volumes; electronic resources, e-books, audiobooks and primary sources through GALE and the Vermont Online Library. We have a growing collection of tools for creating learning and sharing new knowledge (green screen video, microphones, editing equipment, and more). Our library program follows the AASL student standards and aims to create a place where students : inquire, include, collaborate, curate, explore, and engage.
The HMS library mission is to help create lifelong learners who:
LEARN actively and collaboratively,
THINK creatively and critically,
CREATE imaginatively and thoughtfully,
LIVE responsibly and respectfully.
Our space includes:
- Places for students and small groups to work together.
- A digital media production suite: A space for recording, processing, and editing video. Our space includes a green screen & dedicated computers to edit video/music.
- A MakerSpace: A space for students to design, make, and create using technology including a 3D printer, vinyl plotter, large format printer, digital music equipment, and many low-tech projects.
