This is a fantastic opportunity for any girl* interested in aerospace, engineering, flying airplanes, and many other STEM concepts. VWW is running this camp in partnership with Burlington Technical Center and it is ** FREE ** for Burlington School District students.  

• June 16 – 18, 2025 (Monday – Wednesday) 
• 8:00 – 3:30 pm 
• Open to girls* & gender expansive youth who are comfortable in a girl-centered space 
• Entering grades 7, 8, and 9 in the 2025-2026 school year (current 6, 7, 8^th graders) 
• Snacks included. Please bring a lunch each day. 

Camp will be full of: 

• Hands-on activities each day 
• Field trips to Heritage Aviation, Beta, Vermont Flight Academy, and other partners 
• Optional, free airplane ride through Vermont Flight Academy available to all campers 
• Rosie’s Girls Power Skills curriculum to build confidence and dream big about their futures!

Geared towards middle grades, check out a unique showcase of hands-on STEM learning! Presented by the UVM STEM Ambassadors on Saturday, March 29 from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm on UVM campus, in Discovery and Innovations Halls, Burlington. Parents and caregivers may attend the brief opening welcome session, but hands-on activities are for youth only. Please register for this free event. Rosie’s Girls® is a STEAM, trades, and career exploration summer day camp for middle school girls* offered in communities across Vermont.  At Rosie’s Girls, youth are introduced to skills and career fields that are nontraditional for their gender through hands-on learning in a supportive and empowering environment. This summer they’re offering camps in aviation, carpentry, and welding.

*Rosie’s Girls welcomes anyone who identifies as a girl regardless of assignment at birth. Also welcome are youth who are non-binary or gender expansive who are comfortable in a girl-centered space.

These day camps, for students entering grades 6 through 8, are presented at the UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.

WATER WARRIORS Environmental Engineering Camp

July 21 – July 25

At this this camp, you will: Learn how scientists collect and analyze water samples; design and build a water treatment column and compete against other teams to see whose filter is the best at removing contamination; visit a real water treatment facility.

MAKERS Design and Rapid Prototyping Camp

July 7 – July 11

This camp provides an introduction to 3D design using CAD (Computer Aided Design) software and Rapid Prototyping with simple materials and 3D printers. Students gain familiarity with reverse engineering, mechanical assemblies, and design principles.

This event has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 20.

BPHC (Burlington Partnership for a Healthy Community) will host an open community forum to gather perspectives on substance use issues in Burlington on Thursday, March 20th, in the HMS Library at 5:30pm.
