About Our Team
Team Name: Why Synergy?
“Synergy is broadly defined as the combined efforts of two or more organisms to produce a greater result than each would achieve individually. Types of synergistic relationships in nature include altruism, reciprocity, functional interdependence, and mutualism.”
To have synergy as a learning community means that we will learn to see each other, build solid connections, and coordinate our strengths so that we all learn and grow together in new ways.

Ms. Anrod
Science & Math
I’m Ms. Maisie (she/her), and I’m thrilled to be teaching science and math on Team Synergy this year! My passions in the classroom are creating community, hands-on learning, and including art in math and science projects. Before Hunt, I taught as a school garden coordinator and education fellow at Shelburne Farms, so sustainability and garden education are close to my heart as a teacher.
Outside of the classroom, I love to hike, rock climb, knit, pick berries, weave baskets, dance, bake, read, and get my hands dirty gardening. I can’t wait to learn about everyone’s passions on Team Synergy, and create a collaborative learning environment together!

Ms. Giroux
Humanities
Hello, I’m Ms. Giroux (she/hers). My family and I have lived in Burlington for the past 15 years and I have had the opportunity to teach in a variety of settings and with a variety of age groups, including college students, high schoolers and middle schoolers. 6th grade is my absolute favorite age group! I feel lucky to be a part of students’ lives at such a formative time!
My daughter Cosette is a Junior at Boston University and my son Henry is a Senior at Burlington High School.
I’m a beekeeper and am captivated by what we can learn in the rhythms and patterns in the natural world around us. I’m fascinated and curious about so many things and strive to foster this in my students as well. I love thunderstorms, the murmuration of starlings, and how elephants can communicate through their feet over great distances!
I love helping students find their voices and build on their strengths and interests. I strive to have our classroom be an enriching learning community; one filled with a sense of joy as we learn, think, grow and play together.
I enjoy reading, gardening, running, hiking and yoga. In the winter, I enjoy skiing and making soup. I love cooking and eating food from all over the world and I have an extensive cookbook collection. Last year, I started playing cello.
I have two amazing cats, Walter and Vinnie. You will hear about them a lot. They are very grounding to me and make me laugh a lot. Like a cat, I enjoy a good nap.
