Homework:

African Journey!

Here is the plan for the remainder of the year.  Due dates, trips, daily lesson included!

Read this great article!  Savannah to Sahara.

Here is the list countries you can choose from and sources to find information!

Project Guidelines:

The First Gigantor Project:  A Geographical Summary of the World of Seedfolks

Choose a country, city, or state mentioned in Seedfolks.  Over the next two weeks you are going to become very familiar with your choice.  Your final project will represent the history, culture, and most importantly for us, the geography of your C/C/S.

This project is what some might call a “doozie”.

Included in your final draft will be:

·        A hand-drawn map of your C/C/S.  (See map requirements)

·        A minimum one-page, double-spaced, description of your C/C/S.  (See paper requirements)

·        One news article summary.  (See requirements)

If, “the double most important thing” was really an expression to describe the two most important things, this would be the “double most important thing”:

      ·        Put everything in your own words.  (If you do not understand what the GNP, GDP, or Diplomatic representation is…ASK ME!  That way, you learn, instead of be a robot.  If you plagiarize, I will fail you.)

·        Work carefully and neatly, using the skills we have been working on enrichment.

Lastly, remember that part of school, and life, is continuously improving ourselves and our work.  Therefore, think about the effort and output of your first map for class.  Do better on this than you did on that!

Map Requirements:

  • Hand drawn
  • Minimum three cities (including longitude/latitude)
  • Three landforms
  • Compass Rose
  • Scale
  • Legend/Key
  • Title
  • Final Draft Quality
  • 8 1/2 x 11 maximum size

  • Current Statistics (Population, size)

I am actively looking for the rubric which has been, electronically, misplaced.

Two adverbs in one sentence.

In yo' face illiteracy!
