Homework:

African Journey!

Here is the plan for the remainder of the year.  Due dates, trips, daily lesson included!

Read this great article!  Savannah to Sahara.

Due Date: Monday after break (11/26)

Extra Credit Project(ito):  As in, a small project.

You can make sure to bump up your grade at the end of the quarter with this fun, open project.  One catch, if you plagiarize at all – it does not count.  You need to be the sole author of the work.

Here are the options/rules:

·         You can do a report about the person you wanted to know more about.

Think thesis statement about why this person is important and then try to prove it using research. No Wikipedia, and if you copy someone else’s work and I find out, it does not count.  KEEP TRACK OF YOUR SOURCES!!!

·         You can create an artistic representation of your person.

Think paintings, drawings, sculptures, poems, stories, songs, movies.  Whatever you do it should be representative of why your person is important and help to explain something about who they were.  Please include a short written description.

·         You can think back to the film we watched in class, climbing pyramids, exploring the Nile ’s delta, seeing real bazaars.

Write about what having that experience might give, teach, or do to you.  Be clear. Be focused.  Be descriptive.
